Ms. JoAnn Nix Waldrep, age 90, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away peacefully, in her home with family by her side, Friday, December 23, 2022. She had been in the loving care of NEGMC Hospice for almost a year
She was born December 4, 1932 in Cleveland, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Arnold Nix and Carrie Ravan Nix of Sarasota, Florida.
Joann graduated in 1950 from Sarasota High School and moved to Gainesville to work for Southern Bell from 1951-1994, when she retired. She was a member of Georgia Pioneers of Bell South and also a member of Communications Workers of America. She had also been a part-time employee of Ed Voyles Automobile Dealerships from 1982-1997.
She was a loving mother of five children, preceded in death by son Shane Chapman Waldrep in 1994.
She is survived by son, Devitt Waldrep of Woodstock, GA; daughter, Stacey Waldrep Hodges (David) of Gainesville, GA; daughter, Kim Waldrep Evon of Gainesville; and son, Justin Waldrep (Sheila), of Smyrna.
She was a grandmother to three beautiful granddaughters, Lauren Hodges Nunez (Timothi) of Clermont; Dawn Evon of Decatur and Katherine (Kit) Waldrep of Smyrna. She was the great-grandmother of two precious boys, Cam and Jax Nunez of Clermont.
A private service will be held at a later date at Tesnatee Baptist Church in Cleveland, GA.

She was also the mother to her two constant companions who loved her as much as she loved them, Baby and Beautiful, two kitties she raised from birth.
