Paul Dominic Gibbons

At 4:05 PM on Monday, December 12, 2022, as the sun began to set on Fairfax, VA, Paul Dominic Gibbons of Gainesville, GA passed away at the age of 63.

Paul was born on May 1, 1959 in Pensacola, FL to Joseph and Carmel Gibbons. On May 19, 1982 he married Belinda and spent the rest of his life by her side. Shortly after marriage they moved to Gainesville, GA and together raised three children, Dustin, Carah, and Nicholas. He worked as a lead printing pressman up until the time of his death.

Paul was fond of cars and was restoring a DeLorean. He was an avid dissectologist, oftentimes putting together jigsaw puzzles containing up to 12,000 pieces. He enjoyed building model airplanes and ships, winning  several prizes at model shows. He was an active member of St. Michael Catholic Church where he was a lector, taught RCIA and served as an Extraordinary Minister. When Belinda would run errands he liked to “loosen up” his neck by turning up the volume on his stereo system, and playing the air guitar to his favorite music. Paul was very fond of dogs and could never pass up the opportunity to give them treats.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Carmel and his aunt and uncle Agnes and Dominic. He is survived by his wife, Belinda, their three children, Dustin (Casey), Carah, and Nicholas, grandson Clark, sister Mary, and brothers Frank and Michael.           

The funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM followed by a reception on December 31, 2022 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Gainesville, GA and will be open to family and friends. Following the mass, Paul’s cremated remains will be interred at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers, GA. This will only be open to the family.
