Patricia Magdalene (Kemp) Wilson

Patricia Magdalene (Kemp) Wilson, of Gainesville, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville GA, at the age of 86.
 
Mrs. Wilson was born August 16, 1936 to her late parents Elmus Emory and Mattie Lea (Goss) Kemp in Cumming Georgia. She began a long career in Food Service, working at Winn Dixie Grocery Store in the Deli and Bakery, Folks Restaurant and a School Lunchroom. She married the love of her life Harold Hancock Wilson on May 31, 1969. She served in the VFW Post 5257 - Stone Mountain in the Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Wilson served as President and Chaplain of the VFW Post. She received several Awards from the Department of Veteran Affairs for Voluntary Service to Veterans and their Families at the VA Medical Center. Mrs. Wilson volunteered serving Veterans with her talents, treasure, and time (over 10,000 hours). She loves her family and always took time to play with all the children. Mrs. Wilson loved getting together with her family for birthdays, holidays and family meals. She was of the Baptist Faith and a member of Central Baptist Church.
 
Mrs. Wilson is survived by her niece and devoted caregiver Judy Lynn and Terry Grindle; sister Lucille Woodall; sister Leon Gibbs; sister-in-law Joan Kemp; stepson Scott Wilson; stepdaughter Nancy and Norman Clendennin. She had four grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a large number of nieces, and nephews.
 
Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her parents Elmus Emory and Mattie Lea (Goss) Kemp; brother Julius Wilson Kemp; sister Juluia (Judy) Rosalie Meeks; sister Alice Vada Marie Hampton; bother-in-law Huburt Gibbs; niece Angel Grindle; niece Cheryl Jett.
 
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2022 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Scott Wilson will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home Saturday, December 17th from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
