Carol Jane Lomax

Carol Jane Lomax, 73, of Gainesville died Saturday, December 10, 2022. Born December 25, 1948. 

Carol was the daughter of the late Max and Margaret Ward. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia where she was an AOPi before moving back to Gainesville where she was a lifelong member of the community. She was an accomplished equestrian and loved spending time with her horses, but her greatest joy was as a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. 

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Margaret Ward; and her brother, Frederick Keith Ward. 

She is survived by her husband, Bill Lomax of Gainesville; her son, Will Lomax of Atlanta, Georgia; her granddaughters, Myra and Sylvia of Atlanta, Georgia; her sister-in-law, Susan Ward of Highlands, North Carolina; and niece and nephew, Maggie and Ross Ward, of Charleston, South Carolina, as well as extended family.

Graveside services will be held Friday December 16, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the Alta Vista Cemetery.  Rev. Jamey Prickett will officiate.
