Ellen Walden Stephens

Mrs. Ellen Walden Stephens, 75, of Gillsville, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2022 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Donald Wilkes, Rev. W.A. Jenkins and Rev. Wendell Hanley will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Thursday, December 15, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Born on April 7, 1947 in Gainesville, she was the daughter of the late Spencer and Mary Martin Walden. She was a shipping clerk for Atlas Cold Storage.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by her son, Scott G. Stephens; sisters, Alice Standridge, Pat Ellis, Martha Wilkes and brother, Spencer Walden, Jr.

Mrs. Stephens is survived by her husband, Garland Stephens of Gillsville; son, Ashley Stephens of Gillsville; daughter, Tina (Steve) Moore of Gillsville; sister, Helen Hicks of Cleveland; grandchildren, Spencer Duane Carroll, Elise Gustab, Brooklyn Stephens, Jesse Stephens; great grandchildren, Kaylee Carroll, Spencer Carroll, Jr., Xavier Gustab, Kara Gustab, Blake Skelton, Bella Skelton, Roxin and Zoe and a number of other loving relatives.
