Mrs. Evangelia (Evelyn) Barikos, 80, of Tucker, GA, Our beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 8, 2022. She was born on September 11, 1942 in Athens Greece.
Mrs. Barikos and her beloved husband of 60 years immigrated to America in 1972 with their two children, four suitcases and $2000.00, and a dream to make a better life for their children and grandchildren. They were the proud owners of Carnegie Restaurant, European Alterations, Acropolis Greek Cuisine, and Evelyn Cafe. One thing that YiaYia instilled in all of us was that whatever you do in life make sure you do your best, and her best she did. Every business that she opened was always voted the best in Atlanta by several national publications.
Yiayia’s passion was cooking, it was her way of showing her love to others. She spend most of her life cooking for the ones she loved. Her famous saying was “Don’t say I Can’t, Just say I don’t want to”, she always believed you can do whatever you put your mind too. Her favorite hobbies were fishing, dancing and cooking (her true passion). -+
Mrs. Barikos is survived by her daughter Vicki, her sons Bill, John, and eight of the most wonderful grandchildren a woman could ever have; Krista, Alan, Nikki, Evelyn, Alex, Preston, Cadence and Everett.
