Kenneth Paul “Shadow” Hailey, age 71, born February 27, 1951, to the late Paul Cecil Hailey and Beatrice Wheeler Hailey. He received his heavenly wings on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at his residence. Kenny was a longtime resident of Gainesville. He attended E. E. Butler High School, where he was an Esquire and played varsity football. He graduated from South Hall High School in 1970. He was employed at Peachtree Doors, Primex Plastic and currently was employed by American Facility Services Co. at Sugar Hill Elementary School where he loved the staff. He was a dedicated and dependable member of Trinity CME Church, where he served faithfully on the Trustee Board, Steward Board and was the Church Treasurer. Kenny was a fun-loving person, always lending a helping hand to others, his laughter, his spirit always will be remembered by all who knew him. He was a diehard Atlanta Falcon Fan and proudly wore his jersey every Sunday. Sports was his passion, and he supported all the local schools, especially his nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his parents and brother Roderick Hailey. His daughter Kali was the love of his life and was so proud of her and his grand dogs: Nylia and Tootie. He leaves to cherish his memories: Kali (Joe) Ellison, Granddaughter Makalia Ellison, great- grand daughter Akhari Mosby, Brothers Edwin (Elmira) Wheeler, Thomas (Theresa) Hailey, Sisters, Belinda (Rev. Charles) Dickey, Joycelyn (Kenny) Glasper, Gloria (James) Evans, Uncles William (Eva) Haley, and Sidney (Grace) Haley. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and his loyal friends.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Antioch Baptist Church at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Wimberly Funeral Home from 12:00 noon-5:00 PM. Family will receive family and friends at Trinity CME Church between the hours of 6:00 PM-8:00 PM on Tuesday evening. Professional Services Entrusted to Wimberly Funeral Home.
