Mr. "Monkey" Jeff Miller, age 66, of Dahlonega passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022. He was born on July 3, 1956 in Dahlonega to the late Cleveland Miller and the late Louise Tatum Miller. Monkey was a truck driver. He loved doing paint and body work and being a mechanic. He grew up building motors and pushing the limits on how fast he could get something to run. In his younger years he lived and breathed racing cars at Lanier and Dixie Speedway, or wherever else he could find a track. As he got older he loved to build hot rods and to see how far he could push those limits.
In addition to his parents, Monkey is preceded in death by his brother, Mark Miller.
He is survived by his children, Calvin (Amy) Miller of Gainesville, Jessie (John) Dowdy of Dahlonega, and Magnum Miller of Gainesville; siblings Susie Olsen (Jerry Bryan) and Barbara Duncan; grandchildren Savana Miller, Blake Miller, Rebecca Dowdy, Bojack Dowdy, Chris Dowdy and Rylan Miller. Numerous friends and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, December 10, 2022, at the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Rev. John Dowdy will officiate. Interment will follow in the Wahoo Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00 PM until time of service at the funeral home.
