Mr. Benjamin W. Youngblood, age 96, of Buford, GA passed away on Monday, November 28, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Blanche Youngblood; brother, Perry Youngblood. He is survived by his wife of 73 and ½ years, Runell Puckett Youngblood; daughters, Joan Youngblood Beard, Snellville, GA, Kathie (Tom) Glass, Houston, TX; grandchildren, Jason Beard, Suwanee, GA, Josh (Cloudy) Beard, Shanghai, China, Courtney Glass, Houston, TX, Branden Glass, Houston, TX; great-grandchildren, Katie Glass, Caelan Beard; sister, Sara Youngblood Mullinax, Buford, GA; sister-in-law, Virginia Puckett, Buford, GA.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Youngblood was born on May 10, 1926 in Cumming, GA. He was a 1944 graduate of Sugar Hill School and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Youngblood was retired from General Motors Assembly Plant with 31 years of service. He also was a member of the U.A.W. local 10 and also a member of the American Legion Post 127 in Sugar Hill, GA. He was a member of Sugar Hill Baptist Church where he was the longest church member at present and where he was also a member of the Senior Adult Men’s Sunday School Class. Ben and Runell both sung in the Silvertone Choir at First Baptist Church in Buford, GA. He was also a member of the Buford Hardees Breakfast Club. Special Thanks to Capstone Hospice and Wickshire Assisted Living in Buford, GA. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2022 in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, GA with Rev. Wayne Johnson and Rev. Neil Strong officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford, GA with Military Honors. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2022 prior to the Service. In Lieu of Flowers, donations can be made to your favorite charity or Sugar Hill Church at 5091 Nelson Brogdon Blvd., Sugar Hill, GA 30518 in memory of Benjamin Youngblood.
