George M. “Mack” Higgins, 76, of Dawsonville passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022.
Born October 2, 1946 to the late Andy and Imogene Higgins, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 20 years having moved from Forsyth County. Mr. Higgins was a retired cabinet maker and was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He was greatly loved and will be missed. A member of Crossroads Baptist Church, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Emma Lou Higgins; daughter, Rachel Jane Higgins; sisters, Martha Castleberry, Joann Stanford; and brothers, Edwin Higgins and Donald Higgins.
Surviving are his son, Ralph Higgins, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Kaera Higgins, Amber Higgins, Andy Higgins; sister and brothers in law, Joyce and Lanier Castleberry, Phillip Castleberry; and a number of other relatives.
A memorial visitation will be held Wednesday, November 30, 2022 from 4 until 7 at Bearden Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the funeral home to assist with final expenses.
