Betty Louise Steorts Lacey, 59, of Suwanee, Georgia passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday November 17th, 2022.
Betty was born in Raleigh, North Carolina December 11th, 1962, and was adopted by the age of 5 months by the late Harold Eugene Steorts and Janie Reese Steorts.
Prior to their passing Betty was a caregiver to her parents for 17 years. Afterwards, Betty took a job at Heart of Suwanee Animal Hospital where she was for the last 5 years. Her love for animals and commitment to her job quickly moved her up to reception manager. Betty is remembered there for her huge smile, compassion for others, and love of all the fur babies that came through the door, loving them as if they were her own.
She is survived by her son Thomas Matthew Lacey Jr. of Braselton, Ga; daughter Brittany Lauren Lacey of Suwanee, Ga; daughter-in-law Isabel Lacey, grandson Benjamin Lacey and granddaughter Allison Lacey. Betty is survived by her brother Jeff Steorts of Acworth, Georgia; and also her partner and best friend for the last 17 years, Mark Davis, along with many other family members and friends. Betty also left behind her many fur babies that she loved and cared for very much.
Betty, also known as Betty Lou or Momma to close family and friends, is remembered for her caring heart, listening ear, love of animals and crafting, and her willingness to give and always be there for others, no questions asked, and nothing expected in return. She has touched the hearts of all those who knew her and will be greatly missed.
