Pauline Moss Rider

Mrs. Pauline Moss Rider, age 99, of Dahlonega, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022.

Mrs. Rider was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. She was born on March 29, 1923, to the late Major and Floye Moss. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Rider, son Ray Rider, daughter Jo Ann McClain, and siblings Edna Odom, Leona Rider, Cleo Moss, Bonnie Edwards, Viola Sheffield, Edith Mincy, and Adele Bruce. Mrs. Rider was a homemaker and all the details involved with it. She loved canning, sewing, and gardening. When her health allowed, you often saw her caring for her flowers. Mrs. Rider was a beloved wife, mother, and “Granny” to all her grandchildren.

Survivors include her son-in-law, James McClain; grandchildren Jeff and Kaye McClain, Robin Sanford, Dee, and Chris Dyer, Missy and Trent Cain; great-grandchildren Blake and Kim Sargent, Emily and Cody Miller, Brittany and Jonah Grindle, Samantha Woodward, Josh Woodward, Riley Dyer; brother and sister-in-law Leon and Doris Moss; sister Marvene Grizzle; sister and brother-in-law Josie and Ervin Barrett; several great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Graveside services are scheduled for 4:00 PM Sunday, November 20, 2022, in Hightower Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Phil Donehoo will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the funeral home.
