Bobby Lee Adams

Bobby Lee Adams, age 74, of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022.
Mr. Adams was born on March 22, 1948, in Clarkesville, Georgia, at The Charm House, to the late Herbert and Frances Sims Adams.  In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Adams; and sister, Brenda Robinson.
Bobby grew up working at his father’s sawmill.  He was the President of the White County High School class of 1966. After high school he went on to attend the University of Georgia and remained a huge Dawg fan for the rest of his life.  Bobby became an educator, coach and school Superintendent, inspiring the lives of thousands of students and retired after 32 years in Lumpkin County.  He was an avid hunter, a master story-teller and the author of the book “Before I Forget.” Bobby performed in Mountain Music and Medicine Show at the Holly Theatre in Dahlonega, Georgia.  He was a proud member of the “Retired Old Men’s Club”. His sense of humor was legendary.  He was devoted to his family and had a special love for his grandson, John Wilder, whom he called his best friend.  
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Paula Early Adams, Cleveland; daughter and son-in-law, Brooke and Mark Nix, Sautee; son, Brynnan Adams, Cleveland; grandson, John Wilder Nix, Sautee; brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and Sadie Adams, Cleveland, and Bradley and Joanna Adams, Cleveland; sister-in-law, Janet Early, Gainesville.
Memorial services are scheduled for 4:00 P.M. Sunday, November 20, 2022, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home.  The Rev. Chris Anderson, the Rev. Wayne Wilkes, Mr. Red Morgan, and Mr. Cliff Hood will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 4:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home, prior to the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Ronnie Green Heart Center, or the White County Class of 1966 Scholarship Fund.
