Jeannie Rae Henson Gathany

Mrs. Jeannie Rae Henson Gathany, age 60, of Toccoa passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at her residence.

A daughter of the late Henry Ray Henson and Jean McAllester Henson, she was born November 28, 1961 in Alexandria, Virginia, and later lived in Florida where she attended massage therapy school. She left Florida in 1991 to care for her grandmother, moving to Toccoa where she met her husband Jon Gathany while working at Habersham Plantation. She practiced massage therapy for many years, building a dedicated clientele. She was of the Christian faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, David Jonathan Gathany and by two sisters, Pamela Sue Henson and Sharon Kay Henson. 

Survivors include her son and his partner, Jonathan Gathany and Alex Jester of Decatur, Georgia; the father of her son, Jon Gathany of Toccoa; brother, Michael Ray Henson of Virginia, and sister Kay Henson McWhorter, of Virginia. 

Her wishes were to be cremated. The family will have a private graveside at a later date. A register will be available at Acree-Davis Funeral Home for friends and loved ones to pay their respects.
