John Thomas Shepherd

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. John Thomas Shepherd, age 82, of Jefferson, Georgia who entered rest Monday, October 31, 2022.  Mr. Shepherd was born in Porterdale, Georgia, the son of the late Pierce and Dorothy Shelton Shepherd.  Mr. Shepherd worked as a Security Guard at Caterpillar and was retired from the U.S. Navy with twenty-seven years of service.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Shepherd is preceded by his wife Setsu Kanamaki Shepherd.

Survivors include a son, John Shepherd of Madison and a daughter, Vickie Gallo Garcia of Madison.  Four grandchildren, Shaun Shepherd, Chloe Shepherd, S.J.  Shepherd, and Emma Grace Shepherd also survive.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 11, 2022, from Evans Memory Gardens.  Visitation with the family will be at the graveside.
