Mary “Evelyn” Carroll Allison, passed away on November 5, 2022 after a brief illness with cancer. A former resident of Hall County, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Doyle Allison and sister, Rosa Marie Smith.
Evelyn, or “Nunny” as she was affectionately known to her grandchildren, was born to Randolph and Nell Peacock Kirkland on October 14, 1942 in Atlanta, Georgia. During her career she worked for Peachtree Towers in Atlanta, Georgia, as well as Unique Beauty Supply and Harris Flooring, both in Gainesville Georgia. She was a member of Free Chapel Church in Gainesville, GA. Known for her beauty and exquisite fashion sense she was crowned Miss Peachtree Peach in the 1960’s. She had an incredible sense of humor, loved her coca colas and was known to shop till she dropped. She loved gardening and enjoyed spending time with her family and her precious cats. She will be forever loved and missed by her family and anyone who ever had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her son, Rusty Carroll (Lesia) of Jefferson, GA and daughters, Kelli Carroll (Tonya) of Grovetown, GA and April Carroll (Allyson) of Clarks Hill, SC. Grandchildren Ashlee Calvert (Aaron), Ronnie Carroll (Chelsea) and Shondel McBurney. Great Grandchildren, Kohen McBurney, Pace and Reece Calvert and Lawrence Carroll.
The family will welcome friends and family on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Memorial Park Funeral Home, Gainesville, GA location, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The service will immediately follow in Memorial Park Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Ronnie Carroll and Rev. Aaron Calvert officiating. Interment to follow the service in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
