Mrs. Annie Grace Tidwell, 94, of Gainesville, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2022 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2022 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Earl Pirkle will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Born Annie Grace Smith on May 9, 1928 in Gwinnett County, Buford, GA. to Ed and Cora Smith. She was raised and graduated in Flowery Branch, GA.
Mrs. Tidwell was preceded in death by her parents and children’s father, W.W. Phagan.; husband, Joseph A. Tidwell; son, Steven Duane Phagan; brothers and wives, Verner L. Smith and Ruth of Marietta, Paul C. Smith and Jessie Lee of Flowery Branch; sister and husband, Erma Mae Delong and Guy of Pearl, MS.
She was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church for over 40 years. She loved her church and church family and was a part of the Homebound Ministry for years. She loved talking to them on Sundays and also visiting.
She was secretary for Delong Firestone Store and/ or Honda House for 15 years. Afterwards, she went into Care Giving and ministered to many people. She worked until she was 83.
Mrs. Tidwell is survived by her daughter, Brenda Garrison of Gainesville; son and daughter in law, Glen and Glenda Phagan of Dahlonega; daughter, Paula Corvo of Gainesville; 9 grandchildren,; 21 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; sweet friend, Jackie Hawkins of Clarkesville and a number of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Central Baptist Church 785 Main Street Gainesville, GA.
