Edward Terrell Trammell

Mr. Edward Terrell Trammell, age 95 of Chicopee, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2022 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 7, 2022 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Reverend Clyde Self will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Monday, November 7, 2022 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, prior to the service, at the funeral home.

Mr. Trammell was born January 12, 1927 in Auraria, Georgia to the late William McDuffie Trammell and Amy Pinson Trammell.  He was drafted into the U. S. Navy at the age of 18, served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and after the war was over he joined the U. S. Army and served during the Korean War and the Vietnam War, later retired from the U. S. Army in 1972.  Mr. Trammell also retired from Georgia Department of Transportation in 1992.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Tami Trammell, his brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Juanita Trammell and his step-sons, Joseph Byrd and Jeffrey Byrd.  Mr. Trammell was a member of Chicopee Baptist Church, where he taught men’s Sunday School Class and was loved by all the members there.  He enjoyed doing yard work and different chores at Chicopee Baptist Church after he retired.

Mr. Trammell is survived by his wife, Rose “Peggy” Cole Byrd Trammell, his brother & sister-in-law, Claude & Margaret Trammell, his brother-in-law & sister-in-law,  Roger & Denise Cole, his step-son & daughter-in-law, Gerald & Patricia Byrd, his step-daughter, Jackie Barnes, and beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
