Ronald “Ronnie” Lakey, age 77, of Hoschton, GA passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Stella Lakey; brother, Edwin Dane Lakey; and sister, Brenda Holt. Mr. Lakey is survived by his wife, Phyllis McDaniel Lakey; children, DeAnna Elaine Gunter and husband, Darryl of Flowery Branch, GA, and Gary Nelson Lakey and wife Elizabeth of Texas; three grandchildren, Bradley Gunter, Elise Lakey, and Emma Lakey; two great grandchildren, David Gunter and Sara Gunter; sister, Patricia Michko and husband Jack of Greenville, SC; sisters-in-law, Linda McDaniel Barr, Diane McDaniel Sweatman, and Gaye Lakey; brothers-in-law, Calvin Bryan and David Lancaster; our precious niece, Vanessa Cox; and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Lakey was born on February 26, 1945 in High Point, NC. He was a 1962 graduate of Rabun Gap High School, and was retired from Scientific Atlanta after twenty-five years of service. Mr. Lakey was a member of Resthaven Baptist Church. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Pastor Landy McDaniel officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, GA. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 10 at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until time for the service at 2:00 p.m.
