Rev. Herman John Glienke, age 95, of Flowery Branch, previously of Miami Springs, FL, entered his eternal rest Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at his residence, surrounded by his family.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date in Hialeah, Florida and Alta, Iowa.
Rev. Glienke was born February 28, 1927 to the late Herman and Marie Hinkeldey Glienke in Alta, Iowa. Rev. Glienke had served 70 years in Pastoral Ministry. He began his service as a missionary in Cuba, where he provided services in English, Spanish, and German. Rev. Glienke continued his ministry by serving the congregations of Grace Lutheran in Key West, FL (English and Spanish) and Faith Lutheran in Hialeah, FL (English and Spanish) until which time he retired.
Rev. Glienke is survived by his wife Delores Otto Glienke; son and daughter-in-law, David & Sandra Glienke; daughters, Ruth Wessling and Gloria Martinez; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Dorothy Hinkeldey, Marie Litchenberg, and Martin Glienke. He was proceeded in death by his sons-in-law, Mark Wessling and Carlos Martinez; sisters, Esther Lussman, Emma Glienke, Lydia Christensen, Alvina Schmidt; and brothers, Henry Glienke, Albert Glienke, and Ernst Glienke.
