Mr. Willis Clifton Pendley age 93 of Gainesville, Ga. died Friday October 28, 2022 in Hall county.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Monday October 31, 2022, in the Little Davenport Chapel, the Rev. Lamar Purcell will officiate and burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 6 pm Sunday October 30.
Mr. Pendley was born in Cumming, Ga. to the late Jacob “Jake” Pendley and Pearlie Mae Strickland Pendley. He lived for many years in Jackson County Georgia before Joining the Army and was a career military man and he loved his military service. He served in Korea and Vietnam, and he was a Training Specialist with the Military Police. After retiring from the military, he Joined the Westin Peachtree Plaza as their chief of security. He was of the Baptist Faith and Attended Bethany Baptist Church and enjoyed singing and playing the guitar. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother – Theola “Ray” Pendley, a sister-in-law – Merle Campbell Pendley and a granddaughter – Chasity Rebecca Turpin.
Survivors include daughter – Nancy Turpin Portillo and her husband Marcelino. Former spouse – Suzy Marie Pendley, brother – Ronald Pendley, grandchildren – Clayton Thomas and Veronica Turpin, 2 greatgrandchildren – Olivia Rose Turpin and Julius Alexander Turpin as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
