Bobby Joe Gosnell, Sr., age 69, of Lula, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 27, 2022.
Mr. Gosnell was born on May 7, 1953 in Habersham County, Georgia to the late Joe and Dora Tullis Gosnell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Baker.
Bobby had an avid love for antique cars and he enjoyed fishing. Bobby Joe loved his grandchildren deeply, and was known to them as "Papa Bobby". He was owner and operator of Bobby's Junkyard and then named Bobby's Recycling for over 40 years.
Survivors include his loving wife of 32 years, Sandra Smith Gosnell, of Lula; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Joe Gosnell, Jr. and Tara, of Alto; daughter, Amanda Tyler, of Lula; son, Casey "Bubba" Tyler, of Lula; daughter, Stacy Tyler, of Green County, GA; bonus sons, Tommy Davidson and Alton Davidson, both of Alto; nineteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; sisters, Belle Ledford, of Clarkesville; Lizzy Gosnell, of Mt. Airy; and brother, Fred Gosnell, of Homer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Visitation Service will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturday, October 29, 2022 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to assist with final expenses.
