Constance “Connie” Wagner Helfrich, 85, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022 after a brief illness. Connie, an only child, was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 15, 1937 to Lars and Ruth Wagner. She earned a Bachelor’s of Art degree in Education from Baldwin Wallace College where her father coached football, basketball and baseball. Connie was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority. After teaching for several years, Connie was a stay-at-home mom until she took a position in banking up to retirement.
A gracious woman, Connie blessed others with her gift of a listening ear, encouragement and unconditional love. Gardening, bird watching, and playing cards were her favorite hobbies. She was an avid reader, especially of the Bible on a daily basis. She enjoyed playing golf in her younger years and never missed Braves baseball. She was an exceptional artist who found joy in painting. Her family meant the world to her. Above all, Connie was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and lived out her faith every day of her life. She truly exemplified the fruits of the spirit; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Connie is survived by her three children, daughter and son-in-law, Kristen and Jim Hamilton of Atlanta and Cleveland, GA; daughter, Stacey Helfrich of Atlanta, GA and son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Beth Helfrich of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; two grandchildren, Ashley and Luke Helfrich of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; former husband, Frank Helfrich of Tampa, FL and her treasured sister-in-law Sister Christine Helfrich of the Community of Jesus in Orleans, MA.
