Luther J. Broom

Mr. Luther J. Broom, 82, of Dahlonega, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at his residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2022 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Gaines and Rev. Greg Broom will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Friday, October 28, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on July 25, 1940 in Gainesville, he was the son of the late Emory Broom and Evalou Smith Broom. He was retired from Cobb Vantress. Mr. Broom was a member of Clermont Pentecostal Lighthouse.

Mr. Broom was preceded in death by his son, Henry Broom.

Mr. Broom is survived by his wife of 63 years, Anna Broom of Dahlonega; daughter and son in law, Resa and Mike Gaines of Gainesville; son and daughter in law, Troy and Rona Broom of Cleveland; sons, Tony Broom of Gainesville; Marcus Broom of Dahlonega; son and daughter in law, Greg and Isabel Broom of Gainesville; numerous brothers and sisters, 17 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and a number of loving relatives.
