Wilton “Wilt” E. Baxley

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Wilton “Wilt” E. Baxley 80 of Jefferson, Ga.  died peacefully October 20, 2022, at his home.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Inez Baxley, and a daughter, Janet Thomas.

Born in Baxley Georgia, Mr. Baxley had lived in Albany since 1988. Employed at Furniture Discount for several years before moving to Lawrenceville. He then went on to work for Network Communications, until retirement. Wilton loved his Lord Jesus Christ, his family and friends. He was a lover of the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping. Mr. Baxley was a member of White Plains Baptist Church, Jefferson, Georgia.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Baxley, a daughter Kay Hogan (Mark) of LaGrange, Step Sons, Billy Suggs (Vickie) of Auburn, Chris Suggs of Winder, a sister Elizabeth Hutchinson of Leesburg. Several Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

His graveside funeral service will be Monday October 24, at 2:00 P.M. at White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery, Jefferson, Ga. with Reverend Matt Dibler officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:00 P.M. until 1:30 P.M. at Evans Funeral Home.
