Melvin Anderson Locke, Jr.

Memorial Park Riverside Chapel announces the death of Mr. Melvin Anderson Locke Jr. age 74, of Gainesville, who passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022.

Mr. Locke was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 27, 1948 and was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a retired salesman for Bally Shoes and Vernie Jones Ford. He was a loving son, brother and uncle, who cared for his beloved kitty cats. Mr. Locke was preceded in death by his mother, Lou Nelle Whitmire Locke, brother, Danny Locke and brother in law, Simmie Miller.

Survivors include his sister, Betty Jo Locke Miller of Gainesville; nieces, Cindy Humphries and Tammy Smith; nephews, Steven (Cathy) Locke and Adam Locke; great nieces and nephews. Justin and Cody Smith, Avery and Ryan Locke, Thomas, Bennett and Carlin Locke; numerous cousins and other relatives also survive.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Locke will be held on a later date.
