Peggy Evans

Peggy Evans, 74, of Gainesville passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton following a period of declining health.

Born June 27, 1948 and raised in the Gainesville Mill Community, Peggy had been a resident of Hall County for her entire life.  She was a member of High Shoals Baptist Church in Dawsonville and was a longtime employee of WM Wrigley.  A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Louise Smith and Sister, Bettye Stacey.

Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Danny Evans of Gainesville; children, Danny (Teresa) Clark of Gainesville, Paula Jo (Marty) Darracott of Gainesville, Matthew (Penney) Evans of Dawsonville; sister, Emma Miller of Gainesville; brothers, Gene (Shirley) Smith of Gainesville, Hoyt Smith of Mansfield, GA, George Smith of Texas; grandchildren, Austin Clark, Madison (Harry) Harper, Carson Darracott, Jared Grizzle; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 21, 2022 at 3 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Barry Payne, Rev. Danny Miller and Rev. Leonard W. Ridings will officiate.  Interment will follow at Antioch Cemetery in Dahlonega.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, October 20 from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Friday from 1 p.m. until the hour of service.
