Fred Allen Carver

Obituary Date: Tuesday, October 18, 2022

Mr. Fred Allen Carver, 80, of Dahlonega, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville.

A Requiem Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 20, 2022 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Father John Bourbeau will officiate. The Rosary will begin at 10:00 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until the service hour. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. A reception will follow the interment at the funeral home.

Born on September 6, 1942 in Pearson, GA, he was the son of the late Harvey Allen Carver and the late Margaret Leavens Carver. Mr. Carver was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Mableton, GA.

Mr. Carver proudly served his country serving in the United States Army He was a veteran of Vietnam, and retired after 20 years of service.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Carver was preceded in death by his sister, Glenda O’Quin and brother, Charles Edward Carver.

Mr. Carver is survived by his wife, Karen Healy Carver of Dahlonega; son, Robert “Bo” Carver of Hinesville, GA; daughter, Lisa Mincey of Jessup, GA; stepsons, William Nichols, John Nichols both of Dawsonville; son and daughter in law, Christopher and Yuni Carver of Dahlonega; sister, Carol Bramblett of FL; grandchildren, Kortney Mincey, Avery Mincey, Tyus Carver, Caleb McCoy, Abigail Carver, Dolores Carver, Joaquin Carver, Lazarus Carver, Alicia “Maggie” Carver, Constantine Carver, Presley Elder, Sebastian Carver and a number of other loving relatives.

He loved gardening and working in his shop listening to country and gospel music. He served his family every day of his life. Fred never met a stranger.
