Toby Scott Edwards, 49, of Alto, Georgia passed away on October 11, 2022.
Mr. Edwards was born on August 7, 1973 in Illinois. He was employed with the State of Georgia for 27 years, having served in Georgia Department of Corrections as well as Department of Community Supervision. The most important part of Toby Scott's life was his family, which came first. Toby Scott was an excellent cook, enjoyed golfing, and was an avid firearms enthusiast. He enjoyed standing his ground in a good debate. He loved God, his country, and Northeast Georgia. Toby Scott will be remembered as a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend.
Survivors include his loving wife of 20 years, Carmon Edwards, of Alto, GA; parents, Sandra and Richard Edwards, of Hephzibah, GA; son, Jacob Edwards, of Alto, GA; daughter, Caitlin Thurmond, of Mt. Airy, GA; Rose Thurmond, of Baldwin, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Bryan and Tina Edwards, of Fairplay, SC; Kyle and Katie Edwards, of Appling, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Kerry and James Fleming, of White House, TN; mother-in-law, Ruth Moore, of Alto, GA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Cindy and Jamie Williams, of Baxley, GA; brother-in-law, Jon Moore, of Aurora, IL; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 21, 2022 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with Minister Barbara Williams and Mr. P.E. Moore officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens. The Funeral Service will be available live at facebook.com/whitfieldfh (Whitfield Funeral Homes & Crematory).
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 20, 2022 at the funeral home.
