William James "Jim" Champion, 75, of Tallahassee, Fla., passed away peacefully at home on October 11, 2022. An avid surfer, Jim grew up in Ormond Beach, Fla., graduated from Seabreeze High School, served his country in the United States Navy, and earned a bachelor's degree in advertising from Florida State University.
Jim loved being a dad, and he was best known for his quick-witted humor and kind spirit. He loved sports, being outdoors, and spending time with family, friends, and his dog, Georgia.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Jamie Champion (Joseph) Mongiovi and Morgan Champion (Christian) Dickinson, and grandchildren Darcy and Holden. His sisters, Sharen Champion and Susan Champion, and cousins, Kenneth (Sylvia) McDonald and Harrison (Sandra) McDonald, and many extended family members.
A celebration of life will be held in Jefferson, Ga., on November 11, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Jefferson Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to Big Bend Hospice or the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
