Mrs. Elizabeth Betty Edge Cox, age 90 of Skyline Drive, Toccoa passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022.
A daughter of the late David C. and Rosa Friar Edge, she was born September 4, 1932 in Stephens County, Georgia where she lived all her life. She was a 1950 graduate of Toccoa High School and attended Business College. She was a homemaker, a member of First Baptist Church Toccoa, dedicated choir member and church worker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Lavern Cox in 2021 and by four sisters, Mary Lou White, Billie Rider, Martha Harden and Nelle Addington.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Kay Cox and David and Lynn Cox both of Toccoa; grandchildren, Hayley and Aaron Redman, Will and Amy Cox, Kevin and Autumn Cox, Courtney and Tip Johnson and Claire and Grant Segars; great-grandchildren, DB and Jo Johnson, Carter Cox, Warner Cox, Gabe Segars and Jane Cox.
Graveside services will be Friday, October 14, 2022, 11 o’clock a.m. at Stephens Memorial Gardens with The Reverend David Ritcey officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Will Cox, Kevin Cox, Tip Johnson, Grant Segars, Aaron Redman and Mark Cox.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday from 10 a.m. until time to leave for the graveside. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Elizabeth Betty Cox to First Baptist Church, for choir or nursery, 475 E. Tugalo Street, Toccoa, Georgia 30577.
Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Elizabeth Betty Edge Cox.
