Mr. William H. Owen, age 82 of Gainesville, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Bell Minor Nursing Home following an extended illness.
Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, October 9, 2022 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Michael McIntyre will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 8, 2022 from 4 – 8 pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Owen was born August 19, 1940 in Dawsonville, Georgia to the late Jessie Clifton Owen and Gertrude Wehunt Owen. William was retired from City of Gainesville and was a member of Straightway Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Anne Mae Bruce Owen and his brother, Jessie Owen, Jr.
Mr. Owen is survived by his children, Pamela Ann & David Martin, Kenny H. & Teresa Owen, Shirley Ann Nutting, Wesley & Julie Nutting and Edward Nutting, all of Gainesville, has 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, his sister & brother-in-law, Glenda & Joel Segars of Gainesville, his sister, Sue Yarbrough of Gainesville, his brother & sister-in-law, Danny & Deborah Owen of Gainesville and sister-in-law, Margaret Owen of Oakborough, North Carolina and numerous nieces and nephews.
