Mr. William Dale Lingerfelt, age 69 of Defoor Road, Toccoa passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at the Stephens County Hospital.
A son of the late William Cleon Lingerfelt and Fannie Ruth Batson Lingerfelt, he was born February 10, 1953 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived all his life. He was retired from Coats and Clark with 50 years of service and was of the Christian faith. He loved hunting and going to the lake on his pontoon. He was a coach for many years with the Recreation Department coaching midget league football and softball. He loved watching his grandkids play ball. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Carole Gibson Lingerfelt; two daughters and sons-in-law, Amy and Allen Dunson and Cathy and Casey Roberts both of Toccoa; grandchildren, Brynn Roberts, Alanna Dunson, Mason Roberts and Anniston Dunson; step-son, Mike Stowe of Eastanollee; step-daughters, Jenny (Bruce) Holt of Oregon, Cindy Cantrell of Toccoa and Patricia Scott of Ohio; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Reese and Linda Lingerfelt of Flowery Branch, Georgia; two nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, September 29, 2022, 2 o’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers and should assemble at the funeral home by 1:15 p.m., Matthew Lingerfelt, Jeremy Lingerfelt, Butch Ayers, Ronnie Williams, Steve Harbert and Tracey Batson.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday from noon until the service time at 2 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice in memory of Mr. William Dale Lingerfelt.
Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mr. William Dale Lingerfelt.
