Michael departed this life unexpectedly on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at the age of 43, following a prolonged battle with addiction.
If Michael loved you, he loved you with everything he had. Nothing matched his passion for his love of family, especially his love for his parents and sister. He lovingly referred to his mom as "Ma" when leaving her a voice mail message. Michael had grown to love his friends at the rehab facility where after finishing his own treatment, he then stayed in to work there in an effort to help other men who were traveling the path he had fought so hard to overcome. He also considered his co-workers at Pilgrim Pride Corporation in Ellijay as family over the past several years.
In times like these, we often question why, what if, or should I or how could I have done something different? However, the family ask that rather than dwell on how Michael's life ended, you remember Michael for who he really was. He was a son, a brother, brother-in-law, an uncle, and a friend to many. A man with a heart of gold, someone who could make others laugh with his witty character. A man who found beauty in simple things such as waterfalls. Most importantly, Michael was a man of great faith.
While it saddens us that Michael felt as though he had to leave this world to find peace, his light will forever shine in our darkest hour. Memories of him will always live in the hearts of those he left behind. Michael may be gone, but he will never be forgotten.
Michael is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Kate Clark, Howard and Vera Adams.
Survivors include his parents, Gilbert and Denise Adams, sister and brother-in-law, Kendra (Buck) Nation, his uncles and aunts, Nick and LaVenia Clark, Howard and Lisa Adams, nephew Coltyn Sosebee, niece Katie Sosebee, Cousin Jessie Clark and Mia Clark, Jared Adams and family. A number of other family members also survive.
Funeral services will be held Thursday September 29, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Michael Clark will officiate. Interment will follow in the Rock Hill Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery with Rev. Edward Chambers officiating. The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home Wednesday September 28 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
