Kenneth Eugene Gordon, age 81, of Demorest, Georgia went to his heavenly home on Monday, September 19, 2022.
Mr. Gordon was born on October 3, 1940 in Banks County, Georgia to the late Frank Eugene and Mary Elizabeth Rice Gordon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant brother and infant sister. Mr. Gordon was member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was active in churches throughout his life having served as a Deacon, on the audio visual team, taught Mission Friends and the 3 year old Sunday School Class, and was also a RA Leader. Mr. Gordon retired with 25 years of loyal and dedicated service from the Xerox Corporation. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Gordon was a graduate of Southern Technical Institute.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Cheryl Tench Gordon, of Demorest; daughter and son-in-law, Geri Gordon and Craig Keener, of McDonough; sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin Eugene and Melanie Gordon, of Demorest; Steven Anthony and Chrissa Gordon, of Savannah; nine grandchildren and their spouses; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Dr. Craig Ward and Rev. Chip Cranford officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by The United States Air Force and The Grant Reeves Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel and from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Bethlehem Baptist Church prior to the service.
