Sharon Elizabeth Rich, age 66 of Oakwood entered heaven Monday September 19, 2022 at her residence with her family & friends by her side.
Sharon was born August 7, 1956 in Gainesville to the late Raymond & Evelyn Martin Rich. She was the owner & operator of Sha’s Lanier Florist for a number of years. She loved displaying her love of flowers and talents in designing for several occasions. Sharon also had a love for bowling. She was a member of the Georgia Women's Bowling Association where she started as director, then Vice President, then obtaining President. She was inducted into the Georgia Bowling Hall of Fame in 2005. In college, she loved poetry, having written several poems that were published. Sharon had another love for raising funds for Veterans “BVL”. She was also a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church in Gainesville, where she was a past youth leader. In her early years she coached softball for Oakwood Elementary School. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Rich.
Left to cherish memories, brothers, Christopher Rich of Charlotte, NC & Benny Rich of SC; nephews, Tony (Jessica) Rich & their daughter, Evie of AL, Terry Rich of TX, Caleb (Teresia) Rich of CO, Derek (Ansley) Rich & their son, Cooper of Atlanta; niece, Mallory (William) Shatlock of AL; she loved her many cousins and extended family members. Sharon is also survived by many friends, but she wanted to recognize a few who took extra special care of Sharon during her declining health, Terrie & Tim Pinion, Jackie & Tom Hall & Danny & Cornelia Hudson.
Celebration of Sha’s life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday September 24, 2022 at the Pinecrest Baptist Church with Rev. Stephen Wood, Rev. Tony Neal & Dr. Mike Williams officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Pinecrest Baptist Church WMU or M&M Ministries at Pinecrest Baptist Church, Gainesville, GA or Hope Haven, INC in Charlotte, NC, or to the Bowling Veterans league (BVL).
