Antonio Juan DeBerry

Antonio Juan DeBerry, age 67, of Flowery Branch, GA passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2022.  He is survived by is wife of 44 years, Arthenia Reese DeBerry; children, Akilah (Christo) Robinson, Christina DeBerry, Sarah DeBerry, Asha DeBerry, Samuel Lee Kennan; 5 grandchildren, Jabari Berger, Isaiah Berger, Aaliyah Berger, Zaymar DeBerry, Taryn Smith Kennan; mother, Beatrice Howard Barrigher; sister, Sybil Jackson; brothers, Calvin DeBerry, Frank DeBerry.  Tony was born on May 12, 1955, in Tamuning, Guam.  He served in the U.S. Army where he was a Chef.  Tony had many hobbies, he loved to travel, and he stated that “he had touched foot in each state”. He loved cooking, especially reworking different recipes or creating his own flavorful and mouth-watering dishes. He would fire up the grill and cook outside no matter the weather condition, and he considered himself a "Grill Master.” He was a fisherman and a gardener even when the family dog ravaged his vegetable garden.  Tony lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed singing; he had a deep Baritone voice that was a joy to listen to by both his family and church family. He also enjoyed dancing in his own style, despite being an amputee.

Most importantly, Tony was a family man, who enjoyed helping his children, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and anyone in need of assistance. He mentored so many individuals throughout his life because he was a kind-hearted soul, who believed in helping others achieve their dreams and goals in life. He loved people and gave generously to those in need. We are grateful for the time that we all got to spend with him.  He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on 27th, September 2022, at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA with Pastor Avery Henry officiating with Full Military Honors.  A Wake will be held on 26th, September from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, GA.
