Homer "Shorty" Eugene Cantrell

Mr. Homer “Shorty” Eugene Cantrell, 79, of Gainesville passed away Friday, September 2, 2022 following an extended illness.

A Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2022 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Darryl Womack will officiate. The Family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Tuesday, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

Born on January 16, 1943 in Gainesville, he was the son of the late Jessie Cantrell and Nellie Kemp Cantrell. He was retired from General Motors. Mr. Cantrell was a member of Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church.

Mr. Cantrell is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Glenda Cantrell.

Mr. Cantrell is survived by his daughter, Tammy Cantrell McClure of Gainesville; son, Scottie E. Cantrell (Kathy) of Jefferson; grandchildren, Amanda Allen, Anthony Layne, Kristy Hopkins, Makayla McClure, Davey Cantrell, Colin McClure and 8 great grandchildren.
