Stuart William Cowan

Mr. Stuart William Cowan, 79, of Gainesville, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at the Chapel on McEver. Pastor James Glutting will officiate.

Born on June 23, 1943 in Grand Rapids, MI, he was the son of the late Hugh Reid Cowan and Mildred Shupert Cowan. He was a mechanical engineer. Mr. Cowan was a member of Free Chapel Worship Center.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Cowan is preceded in death by his step mother, Thelma Sortor Cowan; sister and brother in law, Kathryn Cowan McDonald and Charles Patrick McDonald and great grandchild, Cole Orr.

Mr. Cowan is survived by his wife, Mary Cowan of Gainesville; sons and daughters in law, Brent and Susan Cowan of Hastings, MI, Richard and Cathy Cram of Aiken, SC., Troy and Monette Cowan of Nashville, TN; daughter and son in law, Laurie and Dr. Robert Ronis of Cleveland, OH; daughter and son in law, Amy and Anthony Orr of Gainesville; son and daughter in law, Jeffery and Kelie Lockhart of Bethlehem, GA; brother and sister in law, H. Ronald Cowan and Susanne Harrison of Bedford, MA; sisters and brothers in law, Peggy Cowan and Richard Wood of Juneau AK, Laura Cowan and Richard May of Orono, ME; grandchildren, Megan, Austin, Emily, Brice, Liza, Ceila, Judd, Quinn, Ashlyn, Blayne, Sarah, Jenny, Anna, Lauren, Alex, Spencer;  great grandchildren, Peyton, Parker, Everett and Connor.
