Ronald Stacy Young

Mr. Ronald Stacy Young, age 62, of Gainesville, Georgia, went home to be with Jesus, Sunday morning, September 4, 2022.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Memorial Park Riverside Chapel. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery.

Stacy was born June 22, 1960, in Gainesville, Georgia, to the late Alvin Grady Young and Joyce Jeanene Flanagan Young. He was also preceded in death by his Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, James B. and Louise Harkins; brothers-in-law, James Michael Harkins and Timothy Allen Higgins.

Stacy was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and a friend to all that knew him.  He attended North Hall High School then became the proud owner and operator of Stacy Young Excavation. Stacy was a life-long member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.

Stacy is survived by his loving wife, Darlene Young of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Corey Smith of Clermont; son, Kevin Loy Young of Gainesville; grandchildren, Claudia Flossie Geltz, Gillian Louise Geltz, Channing Rider Smith and Charlee-Ann Stacy Smith; brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Tabitha Young of Gainesville; sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Ronnie Brookshire of Gainesville; brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Cynthia Young of Gainesville; sister, Connie Young of Dahlonega; sisters-in-law, Vickie Sullens and Penny Higgins; brothers-in-law, Jim Harkins and Grady Sullens. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends and associates. Stacy was a true leader and role model in our community and will be dearly missed.
