Faye Southerland Cantrell, age 81 of Clarkesville, Georgia took her Heavenly flight home to be with her Lord & Savior on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Born in her childhood home in Clarkesville, Georgia on August 10, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Roy & Lena Stewart Southerland. Faye was a graduate of North Habersham High School, Class of 1959 and a graduate of North Georgia Technical College. She worked with many different businesses throughout her working career including Chicopee (Ethicon), Adams, Ellard, & Frankum Law Firm, North Georgia Technical College, Eddy West Furniture, & Shield Realty. She was a talented pianist, and played piano at Victory Baptist Church for a number of years. In her spare time, Faye enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, playing cards, and games with family and friends. Some of her most treasured times were spent planning and preparing meals for her family. Faye was a devoted wife, loving mother, and was affectionately known as “Nana” to her grandchildren. She was a long-time member of the Hazel Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include her loving husband of 61 years, Ervin Cantrell; son & daughter-in-law, Jeff & Holly Cantrell; daughter & son-in-law, Monica Faye Cantrell Parker & Andy Parker; sister & brother-in-law, Donna & Owen Cantrell; brother & sister-in-law, Sherrill & Judy Southerland; grandchildren, Abby & Emily Cantrell; Clay, Carson, & Cole Parker; other relatives, & a host of friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 02, 2022 at Hillside Memorial Chapel with Rev. Billy Burrell & Rev. Trent Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Gardens Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 p.m. until the service hour on Friday, September 02, 2022.
Flowers are accepted or the family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to Hazel Creek Baptist Church, 243 Hazel Creek Church Road, Mount Airy, Georgia 30563.
