David Lee Sexton

David Lee Sexton, 68,  passed away peacefully at his residence in Gainesville on August 18, 2022.

David was born September 10, 1953 in Gainesville, to Grady Homer Sexton and Helen Watson Capps,

He is preceded in death by his father, Grady Homer Sexton, his son Jeremy David Sexton, sisters Elaine Sexton Joy and Ann Sexton James, and son in law Brian Tucker, stepfather, William Ivy Capps,Sr.

He is survived by his daughters Angela Sexton Tucker of Columbus, Ga. and Staci Sexton of Albany, Ga., Mother Helen Watson Capps of Oakwood, Ga, brothers Larry Sexton of Rome, Ga, Stanley (Elaine) Sexton of Gainesville, Ga, Danny (Karin) Sexton of Gainesville, Ga. and Ivy Capps. Jr. of Orange Park, Fl.

David was a proud Veteran having served in the United States Army. He was retired from Federal Civil Service

He loved dogs, especially Bulldogs. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was a Father, a Son, a Brother, and a Friend and we will miss him.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held Friday August 26 at 3:00 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Dwight Joy will officiate.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions please be made to the DAV of America or Wounded Warrior's of America in memory of David.

David's request was to be cremated. His ashes will be placed in the Veterans section of Memorial Park Cemetery in Gainesville, at a private family service at a later date.
