Joyce Elliott Nelson

Joyce Elliott Nelson, residing at 3419 Micah Perry Point, Dacula, GA 30019 passed away due to a long battle with cancer.  Joyce was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina on February 8, 1949.  She grew up in Epworth Children’s Home in Columbia, South Carolina and graduated from Dreher High School.  She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree at Berry College, her Masters of Education Degree at Brenau College, and her Doctor of Education Degree at Nova Southeastern University.  She attended Ivy Creek Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School Class.  Joyce was married to Ron Nelson for 52 years and a loving mother to a daughter, Kristin Lacy and a son Adam Nelson.  Joyce was an accomplished woman, wife, mother and grandmother to six grandsons.  She lived a full life and demonstrated her love of Jesus Christ, her family, teaching, and time with friends. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
