Mrs. Linda Fay Wagner, age 65, of Maysville gained her angel wings on Thursday, August 18, 2022.
Born May 27, 1957 in Memphis, Tennessee, Linda was the daughter of the late Roy and Billie Jean Huffman. She grew up in Pearl, Mississippi until Flowers Bakery brought her family to Georgia. Linda was a DUI instructor in and around Hall County for many years before opening her own school, Absolute DUI and Defensive Driving in Oakwood, Georgia, in 2006. Linda was actively involved in her community, but her greatest interest was serving the abused and neglected children of Hall and Dawson County through CASA, the Court Appointed Special Advocates program. Since 2011, she served on the board of directors of Hall-Dawson CASA and was an advocate to numerous children, ensuring that they had a safe, loving, and permanent home. She was a leader in Women Working Wonders and a member of West Hall Baptist Church.
Linda was a loving wife, mother, Nana, and friend who never met a stranger. If you were lucky enough to be loved by Linda, you never walked away with empty hands or an empty stomach. She loved to cook and feed all of those around her. Linda’s physical vision deteriorated in recent years, but she had the gift of vision that let her see the best in every person she encountered. Linda never thought twice about helping someone in need. She loved to laugh and you always knew when she entered the room.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Ronnie Huffman.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Wagner; daughter and son-in-law, Brandy and Eddie Gillot; stepdaughters and son-in-laws, Beth and Jonathan Staton, Bonnie and Kevin Bosak, and Suzanne and Reid Brooks; brothers and sister-in-laws, Ricky and Deborah Huffman, Randy and Kellie Huffman; sister, Donna Allen; grandchildren, Addison and Coralyn Gillot, Julian and Adrian Staton, Connor and Quinn Bosak, Sullivan and Shelby Brooks; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Hillside Chapel Funeral Home Tuesday, August 23, 2022 from 11-2pm. Funeral Service will be held at Hillside Chapel Funeral Home Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 2:00pm followed by graveside service at Hillside Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hall-Dawson CASA.
