Carol King

Mrs. Carol King, age 77, of Dahlonega, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022.

Mrs. King was born in Los Angeles, CA, on November 27, 1944. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Audrey Purcell King. Carol lived much of her life in Grant Park. She graduated from Roosevelt High School, where she was the majorette. After high school, she attended and graduated from Georgia Southern University, where she obtained her associate's degree.

On June 2, 1966, she met Charles King and fell in love, and on May 27, 1967, they married and began their beautiful life together. With her giving heart, Carol and her husband worked at the Georgia Special Needs Center and volunteered at the Atlanta Zoo. In addition, she was a member of North Peachtree Baptist Church. Her friends and family will greatly miss Carol.

Missing Carol most will be her loving husband of 55 years, Charlie King of Dahlonega; sons David Michael King (Ava) of Flowery Branch, Dennis Matthew King (Theresa) of Alpharetta; grandchildren Dacee King, Chloe King, and Avery King.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the service hour.

In lieu of flowers, the family request for donations to be made to The American Humane Society, humanesociety.org, in memory of Carol King.
