Helen Marie Whitmire Parks

On August 9, 2022 surrounded by her family, Mrs. Helen Marie Whitmire Parks went home to be with the Lord.

Helen was born in Forsyth county on October 30, 1933 and lived in Hall County most of her life. Helen raised three children with her husband of over seventy years, Curtis B Parks Jr. After raising her children, Helen was employed by the State of Georgia Department of Labor for twenty-five years. Helen was a kind and gentle woman of God, well loved by family and friends. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Gainesville and was a member of Joy Sunday School class and Carpenter Mission Group. Her family attributes Helen’s faith and strength as the glue of their family and she will be dearly missed.

Helen is survived by her husband, Curtis B Parks, Jr; son, Benjamin Michael Parks; daughter, Angela Parks Cain; granddaughters, Jennifer Parks Wheeler, Jessica Parks Segars, Ashley Chandler Barnard; grandson Parks Kelly Barnard; great grandsons, Alex Thomas and wife Meghan, Caleb Chiles, Mason Chiles; great granddaughter, Madelyn Gracr Hill; brother, Bobby Whitmire; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Marie Parks; parents, James Ray Whitmire and Agnes Lee Whitmire; sister, Evelyn Whitmire Coleman.

          The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 pm Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Memorial Park Riverside Chapel. Services are scheduled at 2:00 pm Sunday, August 14, 2022 at Memorial Park Riverside Chapel with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
