Mildred Lee Meaders passed peacefully on to her heavenly reward, Wednesday, August 10, 2022.

Mrs. Meaders, the eldest of seven children,  was born on December 10, 1940, in Cleveland, GA, to Sherry and Catherine McClure Collins.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 37 years, John Rufus Meaders, her dear companion of 11 years, George Lasko, her brother, Charles Collins and her son-in-law Bill Bigley.

Mrs. Meaders, along with her husband, John, was a folk potter of some renown, working in the shadow of John, until his death in 1999.  She began producing decorative and functional pottery in the shop where she worked with her husband for so many years, and was recognized in her own right as one of the small elite group of women folk potters in the southeastern United States.

She was a member of Union Grove Holiness Church, and took great comfort in her faith until the end of her life.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Annette and Michael Boswell (Cleveland), Mary and Marty Adams (Cleveland), daughter Joyce Bigley (Milledgeville), sister Lucille Winkler, sisters and brothers-in-law Dolly and Rex Hogan and Louise and Terry Savoy, brothers and sisters-in-law Robert and Susan Collins, Roy and Christy Collins and sisters-in-law Jeanette Brown Collins and Ruby Meaders Irvin.  She is also survived by eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews 

The family will receive friends Friday, August 12, 2022 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm followed by the service held in the chapel of Barrett's Funeral Home at 2:00.  A private interment will take place in the John R. Meaders Family Cemetery across from the ancestral Meaders homeplace.
