Carolyn Louise Bryant

Carolyn Louise House Bryant age 86, of Gillsville entered heaven Sunday August 7, 2022 at Beehive Homes of Gainesville.

Carolyn was born February 24, 1936 in Gainesville to the late J.R. “Bob” & Marion Louise Payne House. She started her working career at Citizens Bank in Gainesville. After taking time away for family she returned to work at Hall County and retired with the Hall County Tax Commissioner’s office. She was a charter member of Pine Grove Baptist Church at Gillsville. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Theron “Downey” Bryant, her parents, and her sister, Winnie Jeanette Irvin.

Left to cherish precious memories are son, Bobby (Charlotte) Bryant; daughters, Jan (Rick) Eckert & Karen (Paul) Montecalvo; brother, Charles House; grandchildren, Austin & Dylan Montecalvo & Kellen Van Hook; great grandchild, Peyton Van Hook. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services to honor Carolyn will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Emmanuel Community Church in Gillsville (formerly Pine Grove Baptist Church) with Rev. Seth Harvey & Rev. Kip Wright officiating. She will be laid to rest in the church cemetery beside her husband with Rev. Sam Henderson officiating the graveside service.

Carolyn will lie in state at the church from 2:00 p.m. until service time. The family will receive friends at the church after the service in the fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the cemetery fund at Emmanuel Community Church or to Hospice of Northeast Georgia.
