Mrs. Keels was born April 27, 1928 to the late Marshall and Leaner Young Stringer in Hall County, Ga. She departed this life peacefully on July 28, 2022.
She attended Mount Zion Church School and Fair Street School during her childhood and teen years. At an early age she joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She married the late Howard Keels on December 17, 1943 and lived for a period of time in New York before they moved back to north Georgia. They were married 38 years until Howard’s death in May 1982.
She worked for many years as a homemaker and at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. She lived independently until she no longer could care for herself and was a resident at the Willowwood Nursing Center in Flowery Branch during the latter years of her life.
Mrs. Keels was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers: Robert, W.A., Frank, and Marvin, her sister: Clair Bulloch, and her husband, Howard Keels.
She leaves to cherish her memory: sister in-law: Anna Bell Watson Stringer of Gainesville, Ga; Wender and Wanda Bulloch of Flowery Branch, Ga; Linda and Marsha Stringer of Gainesville, Ga; nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
