Kinney "Ronny" Martin

Obituary Date: Tuesday, July 26, 2022
Mr. Kinney “Ronny” Martin, 70, of Flowery Branch, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2022 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Joshua Martin, Rev. Christopher Martin and Rev. Matthew Vandegriff will officiate. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Saturday, July 30th from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Born August 13, 1951 in Gainesville, he was the son of the late N.C. Martin and the late Etta Mae Hyde Martin. He was retired from Jack of All Trades and Master of None and a member of Christ Place Church.
Ronny also known as “wombat” by his favorite son in law loved people. He loved sharing life experiences and could spin you a story like a wagon wheel. He never once met a stranger. Hunting, fishing, and fellowship is where he loved to spend his free time. Cutting up and telling jokes were always expected. Never a dull moment when Ronny was around. Everyone loved his cooking but his famous meatballs will be missed the most. Dropping everything to help family or to be there for a friend you could always count on him. He’s walking the streets of gold with Jesus and no longer in pain or suffering.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Martin.
Mr. Martin is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joan Cain Martin of Flowery Branch; daughter and son in law, Julie and Ryan Sims of Perry, GA; granddaughter, Kaitlin Gooch and Rob DeSena of Gainesville; grandsons, Logan Long and Nicole Bullock of Gainesville, Brayden Long of Perry, GA, Tommy DeMicco of Perry, GA; great granddaughter, Jaycie DeSena of Gainesville; brother, Lewis Martin of Buford, sister-in-law, Christine Martin of Alto, brother & sister-in-law, Jimmy & Nancy Cain of Griffin, Georgia and a number of other loving relatives.
